Follow these steps to get your router online.
Connect the Hardware
- Plug the power adapter into the router and an outlet.
- Connect an Ethernet cable from the router’s WAN port to the ONT GE/LAN1 port.
- Wait about 1–2 minutes for the router to power up.
Log In to the Router
- Check for a mobile app: Many router manufacturers provide an iOS/Android app that can guide you through setup. Refer to your router’s guide or sticker for details.
- If no app is available, connect your computer to the router (Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi).
- Open a web browser and type the router’s IP address (often 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).
- Log in with the default username and password (printed on the router label).
- In the Internet / WAN settings, set the connection type to: DHCP (Sometimes this setting is called called “Automatic IP”)
- Save the setting.
- In the DNS settings, enter:
- Primary DNS: 208.97.48.10
- Secondary DNS: 208.97.49.10
- Save changes.
- Try opening a website on your computer or phone connected to the wifi network (without a cellular connection enabled)
- If it loads, your setup is complete!
Troubleshooting
If you can’t connect, restart the router: unplug power for 30 seconds, then plug back in.
